Integrative Veterinary Medicine combines conventional Western Veterinary care which includes Diagnostics (radiographs, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc.), surgery, and pharmaceuticals (antibiotics, pain medications, etc.) with such complementary therapies as acupuncture, herbal medicine, laser therapy, nutritional therapy, or ozone therapy.
It is meant to be patient centered and based upon strong evidence where possible of its capabilities. We strive to produce a synergistic result where patient response is better than either means of treatment alone.
It is used most for some chronic diseases and where quality of life is a major concern. Cases include osteoarthritis, chronic pain, geriatric care, chronic renal failure, and palliative or hospice care.
Integrative medicine complements modern veterinary care. It utilizes additional tools that are chosen to augment our patients’ quality of life and used to improve an overall medical outcome.
It is not meant to take the place of modern Veterinary Medicine.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine technique used to provide many different health benefits for pets. When integrated with recommended therapies, acupuncture can provide significant pain relief, improved mobility & healing, reduced inflammation, and overall better quality of life for our pets with minimal side effects. Some conditions treated with acupuncture include digestive issues, neurological disorders, joint pain & arthritis, respiratory issues and anxiety.
Acupuncture is performed by inserting thin needles into specific points on a pet’s body to stimulate healing. This in turn increases blood flow, reduces inflammation, and triggers the release of beneficial chemicals like endorphins and cortisol.

Ozone Therapy
Ozone therapy uses medical-grade ozone (O₃) to stimulate natural healing processes in pets. Ozone therapy has a wide range of potential benefits for dogs, cats, and other animals including anti-inflammatory effects, antimicrobial action and immune system support. It is commonly used to treat arthritis, chronic infections (dental, urinary, ear, skin), wound and tissue healing, gut/microbiome health and cancer support to slow tumor progression and improve quality of life when combined with conventional treatments. Unlike environmental ozone, medical ozone is carefully generated from pure oxygen and administered in controlled doses to avoid toxicity.
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment to help promote healing, reduce pain and inflammation. This drug free option uses wavelengths of light to help stimulate recovery from surgery, injuries, arthritis and other chronic conditions by fast-tracking cellular repair and improving circulation. This integrative method works well together with traditional veterinary care to help improve the quality of life for our patients.
